Video Baluns

Video baluns are used to convert from one type of cable to another, so these are particularly useful when connecting an analog camera and digital video recorders (DVRs). They allow the use of an unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cable to transmit the camera signals and replace a traditional coaxial cable. The word balun itself comes from the fact that they can convert an unbalanced signal to a balanced one, and it can therefore be transmitted further away as it is less susceptible to external interference.

We stock passive baluns that allow the transmission of real-time CCTV HD video signal via a UTP cable. These do not require power to work and do not boost signals. We also offer twin packs of passive HD mini video baluns. Our Power Over Coax baluns are also passive and are compatible with POC cameras.
